Program #5124 – San Diego Padres and Filmmakers

Hispanic Lifestyle was in San Diego for a meeting when we realized that the Los Angeles Dodgers were playing the San Diego Padres. We quickly wrapped up the meeting and headed to Petco Park where we met up with Mr. Alex Montoya who started off our conversation by talking about the Padres and the Latino community.

We then traveled to Newport beach, California where the National Association of Latino Independent Producers were gathering for their 10th annual conference. We met with Eddie (Edwin Pagán a New York-based filmmaker who shared his thoughts on why he travels across the country to participate in the conference.

Carmen Marron was just one of many film makers walking the hallways of the conference. Passionate about her project, she decided to approach Hispanic Lifestyle and you can only be inspired by the commitment she has to completing the film.

Recognized for her work as a screenwriter on the film “Real Women Have Curves”, author Josephina Lopez was at the NALIP conference promoting her latest project.

Award winning Screenwriter Ligiah Villaobos was co-chair of this years NALIP conference. Ms. Villabobos spoke about working her way up and how NALIP provide much appreciated support of the film La Misma Luna.
