Travel | Navigating Cabo San Lucas: A Family’s Adventure and Tips

The Way We Travel | Cabo San Lucas

Last year, my family and I discovered the convenience and value of Costco Travel. Booking our Cabo San Lucas adventure through them was a breeze, allowing us to align our vacation with our son’s school breaks. Here’s a glimpse into our experience and some valuable tips for fellow travelers:

While I’m a seasoned traveler with Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines was our designated choice for this trip. Though the experience was satisfactory overall, I was taken aback by the luggage charge. My advice: opt for carry-on baggage, especially for short trips to destinations like Cabo San Lucas.

Upon landing, ensure you follow your travel instructions precisely. Our first hiccup was seeking assistance outside the luggage area, where we inadvertently stumbled upon a timeshare sales pitch. Stick to the pre-arranged transportation instructions to avoid such encounters.

When we reached our resort, we encountered various upgrade options, including excursions in exchange for attending a timeshare presentation. While we considered the offer, committing to a multi-year timeshare based on a brief presentation wasn’t for us. Beware of sharing personal information, as they might later solicit your friends and family for a “free vacation.”

Our time in Cabo was memorable. The breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences, like swimming in the Sea of Cortez, made it all worthwhile. Utilize services like Uber and taxis for convenient travel, and don’t hesitate to seek recommendations from locals or friends for dining and activities. Our family did spend a couple of hours and a few pesos shopping at Plaza Puerto Paraíso

Travel Tips to Remember:
– Opt for carry-on baggage to save on luggage charges.
– Be prepared for timeshare opportunities and exercise caution when sharing personal information.
– Check weather and seasonal closures before planning your trip.

Our next adventure will be Cancun, Mexico in the spring. It’s been almost 20 years since we last visited the area. The Sandoval’s are attracted to warm water, relaxing environments and excellent food. Thats the way we travel.
