Hispanic Lifestyle kicks off 2022 driving the Chevrolet Colorado 4WD ZR2 and a visit to Lake Skinner.
If I had to put a label on myself, I admit I’m not an off-road type of driver. I do not own a truck. However, I did spend the last few days driving the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado 4WD ZR2 Crew Short Box. And yes we did have some fun.
Let me set the stage for you. We are base is Southern California about 60 miles east of Los Angeles. It’s a great place to live, work and play, but I am sure I have mentioned this in the past. We have mountains, deserts and lakes all within a 30 mile radius of Hispanic Lifestyle studios. It had just rained a few days back so there was still some soft dirt on our local mountains. We climbed some hills, got the truck dirty and had a big smiles on our faces.
Later in the week we did a little exploring around South Riverside County and visited Lake Skinner. It is a wonderful gem of a place located just south of us. On a beautiful, yet windy Saturday afternoon, we found there were people fishing, hiking, boating, camping and hosting birthday celebrations. Honestly I don’t know what I was thinking. I should’ve taken advantage of the truck. There was plenty of room to put some bikes in the back so our family could have taken a ride around the lake. I screwed up. Not owning a truck, I didn’t think about this opportunity.
Don’t get me wrong I love trucks. Hispanic lifestyle produces events and we use trucks to move our gear in and out of venues.
Personally I’m the type of driver that enjoys a vehicle that has options like, CarPlay, navigation and lots of safety features. I drive a large SUV mainly because of the comfortable ride and it has lots of capacity for our video production equipment.
The four-wheel-drive Chevy Colorado we drove had a diesel engine and is built for a great off-road experience. But it also had several equipment options that I really enjoyed. Our model had leather, heated seats, a great sound system and several options to connect our mobile devices.
Did I forget to mention that my wife said, that ‘it had a remarkably smooth ride.” To recap we had fun and given the times we live in, we all need to have a little fun.
My recommendation is to check out the 2022 Chevy Colorado and Lake Skinner the next time you need to relax and put smiles on your face.
NOTES: The model we drove was the ZR2 Bison and the listed price was $54,940
