Background
Dr. Ivette M. Dubiel is the CEO and Chief Equity Officer for Systemic Educational Equity, LLC. My full- service consulting firm is a leading diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) entity in the State of Illinois supporting school districts in their DEI journey. As a former teacher and administrator, I understand, first-hand, the extraordinary motivation and relationship-building necessary to teach young people. I also know that not all students, their families and other community members are acknowledged, affirmed and validated for their identities, cultures, backgrounds and experiences. I am privileged to assist school districts that are making an impact in the lives of thousands daily.

I continue to serve as an educator through my current part-time role as an Adjunct Professor at two different universities. At Lewis University, I teach Diversity and Social Justice to undergraduates, who are becoming critically enlightened to the historical and current biases and injustices that perpetuate institutions as well as recognize democracy and progress. I also teach Transformative Leadership at the graduate and doctoral level at Lewis University, inspiring working adults to be effective leaders through the pursuit of equity. I also teach at Aurora University educating current teachers in their endeavor of an English as a Second Language endorsement and Learning Behavior Specialist certificate. In this capacity, I am able to expound upon the significance of language as a cultural identity in the school setting.

About five years ago, I served as the founder and first Board President for the Illinois Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (IALAS). Through this organization, we have helped hundreds of educators and administrators build professional networks, advance in their career and develop their capacity to service all students. We have also awarded numerous scholarships and have served on national committees advocating for Latino representation in educational policies. I continue to serve as an active member with IALAS.

Finally, in my DEI firm, my team is comprised of mostly Latinas, who are dedicated to education. We consistently encourage, applaud, motivate, inspire and lead each other to thrive and service others.
