Hispanic Lifestyle’s annual Business Conference and Expo celebrating the achievements of Latino/Latina owned businesses will take place on June 7, 2018 at Ontario Airport Hotel and Conference Center, Ontario, California. BIZCON 2018 is being presented by Hispanic Lifestyle with the sponsorship support of  Wells Fargo BankSouthern California EdisonCoca Cola, HRBC Insurance, Riverside County EDAOntario Airport Hotel  and Pair.com

We have the resource support of the Inland Empire Small Business Development CenterInland Empire Women’s Business Center and SCORE.

This one day event will feature workshops, panel discussions, exhibitors and the presentation of Hispanic Lifestyle’s 2018 Survived and Thrived Business honorees and 2018 Executives of Influence.

The roots of our annual business event go back to 1996 when Hispanic Lifestyle began highlighting the achievements of regional Latino/Latina owned businesses.  Over the years Hispanic Lifestyle has recognized hundreds of companies and in 2014 we reformatted the event to celebrate those businesses that have “Survived and Thrived” operating a company during difficult economic conditions.

Hispanic Lifestyle’s annual business event has the reputation of attracting hundreds of Latino, Latina business owners and professionals from throughout California and the United States.  Several diverse business organizations, chambers of commerces and associations participate in this event which showcases Hispanic Lifestyle’s commitment to bring communities together.

The past decade he has served the Inland Empire Small Business Development Center as Director and, for a year, as a business consultant. He helps companies and individuals look at the strategic goals, assess the validity of market offerings and determine where the future lies in their business ventures.

Camino Financial is an online platform offering loans and personalized advisory to small businesses. Yvette is passionate about serving small businesses and has developed a deep understanding of their needs after working for her family’s restaurant business for over 10 years. She was the first employee hired at Camino Financial, and has helped the Company grow into one of the most prominent online lenders serving underbanked communities. Prior to Camino Financial, Yvette worked as a loan officer for several brokerage firms including Wells Fargo. Yvette’s key strengths are her ability to deliver great customer service and simply explain financial products to her clients. Yvette is fluent in Spanish and has worked closely with the Latino community for over 20 years.

Mr. Behnke, independently, provides one-on-one sales coaching to 36 business specialists in the Riverside and San Bernardino counties for Wells Fargo Bank. Develops new and re-designs existing coaching protocols and programs to meet business need. Evaluates the effectiveness of sales coaching and provides feedback and recommendations to management. Acts as a business partner in providing necessary tools and resources to sales members to the increase the sale of financial products and services. Analyzes performance trends, identifies developmental needs and provides coaching techniques and recommendations to improve sales performance. Acts as a product knowledge and sales process resource for sales force and company management. Collaborates with management in the communication and implementation of regional and corporate business/sales initiatives. Analyzes market information and determines which products and services should be targeted for individual locations.

Christine Sanchez, Business Development Officer at ACCION in the Inland Empire
Accion is a non-profit micro-lending organization, who offers small Business Loans, organize workshops for Small Business Owners, and connect them with resources available to them in the community. The mission of Accion San Diego is to create economic opportunity for primarily low-to-moderate income, business owners who lack access to traditional sources of credit. Through business loans and support services, we strengthen the roots of emerging entrepreneurs and help them to thrive in their communities, creating social and economic change.

Michelle Skiljan serves as executive director of the Inland Empire and Coachella Valley Women Business Centers. The WBCs are small business assistance programs partially funded by the US Small Business Administration. The WBCs, programs of the Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration at California State University San Bernardino, have offices in Riverside, Colton, Palm Desert and a part-time office in Corona. During Michelle’s tenure, the Women’s Business Center Programs have raised over 5 million dollars in federal and match funding, trained over 50,000 workshop participants, provided business counseling for over 3,500 business owners and generated regional economic impact of 18 million dollars

Gloria Burton has over 20 years of Supply Chain Management experience, she has supported many organizational units across SCE as a procurement Agent and Contract Manager. Currently, Gloria is a Program Manager with Supplier Diversity & Development committed to helping divers firms strengthen their capabilities so they can grow and become more successful and deliver economic value to our customers and communities.

SYLVIA GUTIERREZ –U.S. Small Business Administration
Works for the U.S. Small Business Administration, Santa Ana District office as Economic Development Specialist and Women’s Business Outreach Representative. She has more than 20 years of experience in business development. Her marketing and outreach activities reach the tri-county area of Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino. She is invited to speak on SBA Programs and Services by various organizations and TV networks.

MEGHAN HAHN – Riverside County Purchasing and Fleet Services
Meghan Hahn is the Compliance Contracts Officer for Riverside County Purchasing and Fleet Services Department. She has been with the County of Riverside for over 10 years, playing a role in procurement teams for various County Departments including Community Action Partnership, Public Social Services, and Purchasing. Prior to her time with the County, Meghan worked in fund development and grant writing in the non-profit sector, rounding out her 15+ years in the procurement field. As the Compliance Contracts Officer, she is responsible for vendor outreach and education efforts and oversees the County’s compliance programs, including vendor protests, vendor preference programs, public records requests, and special procurements.
