BACKGROUND
Adriana joined Cox in August 2018 as Public Affairs Manager overseeing community relations, philanthropic programs, employee volunteerism and employee engagement programs. In her role, she provides leadership and strategic direction on community relations and public affairs for Cox Communications’ Orange County, Palos Verdes and Santa Barbara markets. Part of her role includes successfully overseeing the board service program, which offers Cox leaders the opportunity to share their skillsets and talents with local nonprofits. She is passionate about diversity, inclusion and equity, and in 2022 will serve on the D, I & E Council as a Lead in California. As part of her efforts to attract a diverse talent pipeline to Cox, Adriana serves as the project manager of an innovative talent acquisition program, the Workforce Development Initiative. She is passionate about implementing new initiatives that positively impact local communities and raise brand awareness. In her role, she supports the company’s growth through strategic initiatives, thought leadership, stakeholder engagement and community partnerships.

Adriana Galdamez, 2022 Latina of Influence

Prior to joining Cox, Adriana worked in Public Affairs for State Farm Insurance overseeing an expansive philanthropic portfolio. She ensured grant funding was directed towards positively impacting local communities within education, community development and safety. Throughout her tenure, Adriana served as a trusted advisor to leadership and agents on local reputation management issues and public relations. She served as a media spokesperson, and pitched campaigns and company content to media outlets. She worked collaboratively with government affairs to mobilize agents on legislative issues and served as a CSR subject matter expert to elected officials. She handled communications for executives and agency leadership for company sponsored events throughout Southern California. She was also responsible for ensuring external events yielded media coverage, social media engagement, employee participation and favorable public relations outcomes.

Adriana has had the privilege of serving on Concordia’s Hispanic Advisory Council, the OC Forum board, and the OC Grantmakers board, where she currently serves as the public policy chair. She previously served the Hispanic Public Relations of Orange County organization as a public relations chair.

Adriana holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego and a Master of Arts degree in Education from San Diego State University.
