More than 200 community volunteers descended on Queen Park in Inglewood, California to create a Disney Junior inspired playground and learning garden. Carolina Lightcap, president, of Disney Channels Worldwide spoke about the project and community partners.

 

We spoke with Ms. Lightcap about the elements of the redesigned community park.

On hand to celebrate the completion of the project with community leaders was actor, producer and the voice of Disney Channel’s Handy Manny, Wilmer Valderrama.

We finished with Wilmer by asking if has visited all the parks that have been redesigned around the U.S.

 

National Hispana Leadership Institute

The mission of the National Hispana Leadership Institute is to develop Latinas as ethical leaders through training, professional development, relationship building, and community activism. Hispanic Lifestyle spent the afternoon at one of their empowerment conferences, meeting with Latinas who have participated or supported the program.  First we spoke with their former CEO Christina Lopez about the history of NHLI.
