2019 Executive of Influence | Clemente González – Market Head Community Activation, California – West Territory Coach, Community Affairs,  Aetna

Hispanic Lifestyle is pleased to recognize Clemente Gonzalez, Market Head Community Activation, California – West Territory Coach, Community Affairs, at Aetna as a 2019 Executive of Influence. Clemente will be recognized along with his fellow honorees at BizCon 2019 during our lunchtime program on June 12, 2019 at the Ontario Airport Hotel and Conference Center, Ontario California.  

Clemente joined Aetna in December 2007 as the Market Head Community Activation, California West Territory Coach, Community Affairs,. Clemente builds relationships with non-profits and for-profit organizations in the marketplace that aide Aetna in achieving its national, regional and local strategic goals and aligns these relationships with Aetna’s initiatives in order to establish marketplace leadership. 

Prior to this, Clemente worked at Blue Cross of California in the Emerging Markets Department as a Business Development Director.  Clemente also spent 6 months as a Business Development Consultant at Evercare under Secure Horizons in Southern California acquiring experience in the Medicare (Senior) Market.

Before the health insurance industry, Clemente spent several years as an Advertising Sales Manager at El Clasificado LLC in Los Angeles and The James G. Elliott Co., an advertising sales rep firm, focusing his efforts on National and Regional account management. He also spent three years as the Promotions Manager at Casanova Pendrill Advertising, a top-notch, national Hispanic advertising agency in Los Angeles with a noted client roster. Clemente worked on the Home Depot, DirecTV and Coors Light accounts, among others; and worked on pitching new business. 

Prior to joining Casanova Pendrill, Clemente spent three and a half years as the Promotions Executive at La Opinión, the Spanish-language Newspaper in Los Angeles.  He managed and coordinated event marketing with cooperative advertisers and participation at trade shows, conventions, fairs and other events.  Clemente also managed and implemented promotional programs for Display Advertising and Editorial departments to increase sales and/or obtain sales leads.

Clemente began his marketing career as the Promotions Representative for Adidas America in the Soccer Department for the West Region, which included eleven states. Clemente serviced and managed promotional accounts which included elite college programs, state youth associations and the U.S. National Team prior to and during World Cup 1994.

Clemente is a graduate from CSU Dominguez Hills in California, with a double Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Marketing and Management, while he was a member of the Dominguez Hills Men’s Soccer Team.  Clemente still finds time to dedicate to the community by serving as Head Soccer Coach at Inglewood High School since 1987.
