Segment: Lillian Vasquez
We turn the page to profile our Community Advocate of the Year, Lillian Vasquez. Ms. Vasquez is a member of the California State Autism Advisory Committee for the Superintendent of Public Schools and is board member of the Autism Society of America. Lillian is a mother of an autistic son and a leader in her community.

Lillian begins our conversation by sharing her first experience working with Autistic children.

Ms. Vasquez talks about her family and how they dealt with finding out their son was autistic.

We asked Ms. Vasquez about her experience working at KVCR.

We asked about the activities of the Autism Society of America of the Inland Empire.

Ms. Vasquez share her thoughts about what she hopes her advocacy efforts will produce in the future.

Influential Latino, Raul Ruiz MD, MPP, MPH

Our last segment in this show highlights our Influential Latino of the Year, Dr. Raul Ruiz. Dr. Ruiz currently works as an emergency physician at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California. He also focuses his skills in developing policy to improve emergency care and public health for vulnerable populations.

Dr. Ruiz begins our conversation by talking about where he grew up and what his family did for work.
