The Inland Empire Future Leaders Program has announced the dates for the 2012 Latino Youth Leadership Conference. The conference will run from Sunday, July 29, to Friday, August 3 2012
As a supporter/participant of IEFLP, we ask that you help us disseminate the information about the Leadership Conference and about the availability of conference applications. Please share the information with family, friends, co-workers, colleagues, students, and others with eighth- or ninth-grade family members. School staff members, please share with eligible middle or high school students.
IEFLP aims to motivate students to:
- stay in school
- strive for academic excellence
- become leaders in school, church, and community
- take college prep courses
- enroll in college after high school graduation
The program’s target population is eight- and ninth-grade students from the Inland Empire. At least a 2.8 grade point average is required to apply. The conference application requires an autobiographical statement, a description of school and community activities and service, and two letters of recommendation from school personnel and community leaders.
