Hispanic 100 Foundation honors Edward James Olmos

On Friday, September 26, the Hispanic 100 Foundation, a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization, presented actor, director and humanitarian, Edward James Olmos, with the Lifetime Achievement Award.  The organization also recognized 11 students with $1,000 scholarships for their outstanding commitment and dedication to the Foundation’s Mentor Program.

Advocacy and education are the driving forces that inspire the Hispanic 100 Foundation.

“Edward James Olmos embodies the principles of advocacy and education that our Foundation espouse so it was fitting to honor him during our 5th Annual Lifetime Achievement Award Gala,” stated Mario Rodriguez, Chairman, Hispanic 100.   “We are also very proud and recognize the hard work all our mentors and mentees have put into this year’s Mentor Program.  We hope to be able to provide more scholarships to students in 2015.”

The Hispanic 100 Foundation, established in 2013, is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides educational advancement opportunities to today’s Hispanic youth through the establishment of a Mentor Program.  By establishing relationships and connections between young Latinos, ages 18 through 25, with prominent business, political, and non-profit leaders involved in Hispanic 100, the Foundation continues to advance its mission of providing educational opportunities for tomorrow’s leaders.
