Through its network of more than 300 member organizations representing more than 45,000 members in California, COFEM is the largest organization of its kind. They invite you to the 2012 COFEM Annual Conference and Expo in Los Angeles, California on August 25 and 26, 2012. The event will be held from 11:00a.m. – 8:00p.m.

The 5th COFEM Annual Conference and Expo brings together Latino families, a coalition of community organizations, business leaders and private companies seeking to forge strong relationships with the Latino community. This convening creates a unique opportunity for its supporters to introduce relevant information, including products and services, to a multitude of segments within the Latino market. The 2012 COFEM Annual Conference and Expo is poised to attract thousands of families eager to integrate into mainstream America and build relationships with conference participants.

Stop by and visit the Southern California Gas Company booth and receive information on The CARE program.  The program provides a 20% discount on the monthly gas bill for eligible households. In addition, those who qualify–and are approved within 90 days of starting new gas service–will also receive a $15 discount on the Service Establishment Charge. You will receive your discount once your completed application is approved by Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas).

The COFEM Annual Conference and Expo gathers families and individuals in a fun and festive environment. Through workshops and plenary sessions, the conference brings together influential Latino and immigrant leaders, elected officials, experts and academics, and other important figures in the Latino community to discuss and address the most significant issues impacting and changing the Latino community. The Expo presents its sponsors and partners with the unique opportunity to showcase, sample, educate and promote products and services that are relevant to Latino families. This celebration offers entertainment, cultural exhibitions, Mexican cuisine and much more.

WORKSHOPS AND PLENARIES will gather hundreds of immigrant leaders, elected officials, experts and academics, and other important figures in the Latino community to discuss and address the most significant issues impacting the Latino community. The issue areas of education, health, economic development, U.S.-Mexico relations, and civic engagement will be covered before a more targeted audience in the conference. A dynamic policy luncheon will also take place incorporating distinguished keynote speakers.

SCHOLARSHIP RECEPTION will recognize and support a deserving group of outstanding immigrant students in partnership with sponsors and community leaders. The personal stories of educational promise and achievement despite extenuating circumstances will be celebrated in a community atmosphere.

ABOUT

The Consejo de Federaciones Mexicanas en Norteamérica (COFEM) was established by a league of organizations comprised of people who share ideas and participate in efforts to improve educational, health, social, economic, and political conditions for Latino Immigrants in North America. The mission of COFEM promotes the advancement of the Latino community in North America through public policy advocacy, community organizing, leadership and organizational development, educational and cultural programs, and bi-national economic development.
