2020 Latina of Influence | Chef Rosie O’Connor

Hispanic Lifestyle is pleased to recognize Chef-Owner Provecho Grill Rosie O’Connor as a 2020 Latina of Influence. Ms. O’Connor along with our entire list of 2020 Latinas of Influence are invited to participate in Latina Conference taking place April 1 and 2, 2020 in Ontario, California.

Chef Rosie is the award-winning Chef-Owner of Provecho Grill and a two-time winner of the SoCal Chef Open and a Harrah’s Casino Hell’s Kitchen competition 1st place winner, where she served over for 400 VIP guests.

As a chef and TV personality, she has appeared on Food Network’s Supermarket Stakeout and The Cooking Channel’s Farmer’s Market Flip.

She is a recipient of the Volunteer Service Award from President Barack Obama and joined CHEFS Latinos’ lineup of 18 global standout Latinx chefs to cook for El Presidente Vicente Fox in his hometown of Guanajuato.

But Chef Rosie’s future wasn’t always so bright. Before becoming a chef and restauranteur, she was a teen mom raising her son alone after leaving a tumultuous relationship. After years of struggle and preparation, she never lost sight of her dream to start her own restaurant.

When she was finally faced with the right opportunity, she jumped at the chance. It took two long years of non-stop hustle just to keep the doors open, but what the experience only made her stronger.

After 8 proud years in business, Chef Rosie has seen how determination pays off and is committed to guiding and mentoring the next generation of young chefs. Through her story, she hopes to remind everyone that any obstacle can be overcome with motivation and determination.
