2020 Latina of Influence | Catherine Garces

Hispanic Lifestyle is pleased to recognize Marketing Executive and Community Advocate Catherine Garces as a 2020 Latina of Influence. Ms. Garces along with our entire list of 2020 Latinas of Influence are invited to participate in Latina Conference taking place April 1 and 2, 2020 in Ontario, California.

Catherine was born in New York City, but at a very young age moved to Ecuador and was raised by her grandparents. When she turned 14 years old moved back to the United States where Catherine finished her studies and later received her degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. During her years attending High School, she was involved with the student government program, which allowed her to share ideas once a month, with the Senator of New York, Right after college, a scholarship to attend Cornell University and an offer to work an internship program with Donald Trump came, however she declined and started her career in the hotel industry at a corporate level.

When Catherine was 16 years old, her dad owned an Importing/Exporting company and in her spare time would learn the International Business World She also witnessed her father’s growing business take a deep fall due to lack of knowledge in financial planning. This is what motivated Catherine to get on this journey of educating on the importance of Life insurance, retirement planning, and how to protect your business, and due to her cultural background she decided to focus in the Latino community. From here on, her life took a 180 degree turn and she became an inspiration to both men and women in the community.

Catherine Was featured on several magazines as a woman creating awareness.

Catherine has planned and participated in multiple philanthropic events in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Has received recognitions from Congress, Mayors from several cities in California and from the Police department in Los Angeles due to her committed work during her corporate position in New York Life.

She has been involved and supports several non-profit organizations: . Kids with Autism. Woman Health and Wealth, Orange County Hispanic chamber of commerce where she was awarded Ambassador of the year and now sits on the board of the California Hispanic chamber of commerce as a assistant director, the United Latinos student association where she provides Guidance To our future Leaders also for the past three years she has her own radio show, “Hablando con Catherine” in Spanish where she educates the Latino community on several important topics. Catherine is also a book author where she strongly talks about empowering women and the passion behind every Latina.

Catherine continues to be invited as a guest speaker to various Schools, Universities, Radio, Television such As Telemundo, Univision, international Media and different panels of Social Media to speak about financial planning and overcoming adversities.

Currently after 11 successful years in the corporate world with the New York Life she decides to follow her passion becoming an entrepreneur following her successful family’s footsteps partnering with the Andreas Healthy Kitchen family as their new Chief Marketing Officer.

She is also known as a big influencer, philanthropist and leader in the Latino community.

I would also like to nominate Catherine Garces. Catherine is a go getter, she is a woman who is very compassionate and is always looking for ways to support other women, organizations, and causes. When Catherine get’s behind a mission- she makes sure that mission is successful.

I have worked with Catherine through her initial involvement of OCHCC, Latina Vida, NHBWA, OCHYCC, and now Ca HCC. Her talks about financial literacy are so valuable to all communities, but I love that she focuses on the Latinos and provides the information not only in spanish but in terms that the general public can understand. Catherine Garces, Director of Recruiting at New York Life company. Catherine is very passionate about educating the community of the importance of Financial Literacy. She is a public speaker, influencer and has her own radio show “Hablando con Catherine” a través de Escuchando FM. Recently partner with Tatiana Pacheco and is now Andrea’s Healthy Kitchen C.M.O.  Catherine is involved and supports various organizations in Los Angles, Orange county and the Inland Empire. She is very compassionate, specially when kids are involved and also animals.

Catherine has 3 extraordinary and beautiful kids: Sebastian, Sabrina and Santiago, she also has her “Maltipoo” dog family that live with them along with occasionally turtle, bird or any other animal that she rescue and welcome into their family.

Catherine Garces is unstoppable, professional, kind hearted and always speak up in defense of human rights, women, children, animals and the environment. Karla Silva
