21st ANNUAL FESTIVAL DE LA FAMILIA SHOWCASES MORE THAN 21 LATIN-AMERICAN CULTURES THROUGH DANCE, MUSIC, FOOD, ART AND TRADITION

Discounted tickets now available online for Festival of the Family, one of Northern California’s largest one-day multi-cultural events

Festival de la Familia, (Festival of the Family), Northern California’s premier one-day multi-cultural event, will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Cal Expo, in Sacramento. The community is invited to celebrate the beauty and diversity of more than 21 Latin American countries.

Select countries in Central America, South America, North America, Caribbean and Eurpoe will all be showcased through dance, music, food, art, crafts and other Latin cultural traditions. In honor of Festival’s 21st anniversary, this year’s event will feature 21 tastes of 21 countries, 21 bands & dance groups, 21 artists & artisans, 21 community resources, and one proud family.

Festival attendees can taste one of the many Latin flavors and savory dishes, explore authentic arts and crafts, watch children create their own work of art, shop at the open-air Mercado, see the extensive art exhibit and meet the artists, dance to the beat of high energy Latin music, enjoy the numerous dance troupes, peruse educational exhibits depicting Latin heritage or visit one of the many interactive community outreach booths.
