KGGI Morning Show CoHost Raising Money Leukemia & Lymphoma

Orange County/Inland Empire’s (LLS) 2010 Man & Woman of the Year Campaign. The campaign kicked off on March 25 and featured community and business leaders raising money for 10 weeks for blood cancer research.  The top fundraisers earn the title of 2010 Man or Woman of the Year.

Evelyn was nominated as a candidate by Sindy Godfrey, the 2009 Woman of the Year. Evelyn was a strong supporter of Sindy’s campaign in honor of her father who died of leukemia last year and her 6-year-old nephew who just completed chemotherapy for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.  “No family should ever have to suffer through the agony I witnessed with my dear friend Sindy” states Evelyn.

Evelyn is married to husband Chris and has two children. “My children are my world and I’m so blessed they are healthy, but it’s an eye opener to see how quickly a family can be affected by blood cancers like my friend Sindy’s family. This serves as fuel to this fire that we need to stop cancer in it’s tracks” declares Evelyn. She plans to fundraise through comedy shows, golf tournaments and various family friendly events with the support of her husband Chris, her children Aiden and Juleen and her 99.1 KGGI staff and supportive family of listeners.  She concluded, “This is truly the most important event of which I’ve ever been a part.  I’m eager to jump in.”
