Representatives for Wells Fargo Bank are invited to participate in a reception acknowledging their efforts for providing a Great Working Enviroment For Women on April 7, 2016 at the Ontario Airport Hotel, Ontario, California. The reception is the kickoff event for Hispanic Lifestyle’s 2016 Latina Conference to be held on April 8, 2016.

Through a full array of business products and services, including credit cards, loans and lines of credit, cash management, payroll, merchant payment solutions, retirement, and online banking, helping Hispanic and women-owned businesses succeed financially. Wells Fargo loans more money to America’s small businesses than any other bank (2002 – 2012 Community Reinvestment Act government data) and is a leading lender to women- and diverse-owned businesses. In 2014, Wells Fargo committed to extending $100 billion in new lending to small businesses across America.

For more than a decade, Wells Fargo and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) have worked together to develop programs that help Latino business owners grow and succeed. Wells Fargo is founding sponsor of the USHCC Foundation’s Chamber Training Institute initiative, a program created to provide unique educational opportunities and foster the growth and prosperity of Hispanic-owned businesses and the wider small business community. Through the program, business owners and chamber leaders gain access to tools and resources to help Hispanics start, maintain, and grow their businesses.

Wells Fargo has a rich history of supporting women business owners and providing access to capital and financial services. As the number of women-owned businesses in the United States continues to grow, Wells Fargo is growing lending to women-owned businesses and has loaned more than $49 billion to women business owners since 1995. The company is on track to meet this commitment of lending $55 billion to women-owned businesses in the U.S. by the year 2020.

Wells Fargo supports numerous outreach efforts in local communities to build relationships with women business owners and help them to succeed financially. Wells Fargo is a proud supporter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), among other organizations, focused on the education, growth and advancement of women business owners.

Wells Fargo is committed to building relationships in local communities through the use of certified minority-, women-, LGBT-, disabled-, veteran-, and disabled veteran-owned business enterprises. Wells Fargo spent $824 million with such suppliers in 2013 and more than $8 billion in the past 10 years.

Community Empowerment:
Wells Fargo developed a free online program, El Futuro en Tus Manos® (Hands on Banking®), that teaches the basics of responsible money management. Topics include creating a budget, saving and investing, borrowing responsibly, buying a home, and establishing a small business. In addition to the online self-directed platform, team members are trained to deliver the Hands on Banking curriculum in local communities. The program is available in English and Spanish and can be accessed free of charge online at elfuturoentusmanos.org or handsonbanking.org. Wells Fargo works with organizations such as National Council of La Raza, Teach for America, and the United State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to conduct free financial education seminars. Curriculum includes investing, retirement planning, preparing for home buying, and credit and money management.

In 2013, Wells Fargo provided $84 million in grants to nonprofits focused on community development in distressed communities, including affordable housing, homeownership counseling, financial education, workforce development, and job creation. In 2013, Wells Fargo invested a record $275.5 million in 18,500 nonprofits, educational programs, and schools including $40.4 million to organizations specifically serving the Hispanic community such as the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, National Council of La Raza, Teach for America, and the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

As part of the organization’s commitment to education, in 2013, Wells Fargo’s community investments included $81.6 million to 8,000 educational programs and schools around the United States. Through the Wells Fargo Foundation, the company works with nonprofit organizations and stakeholders to strengthen the goal of providing high quality assistance to those individuals who are working to achieve their educational dreams. In 2013, an $8.1 million commitment to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) over the next three years will enable the expansion of resources by HSF to help families plan and pay for college.

Wells Fargo ATMs, Wells Fargo Phone Bank℠, and the internet offer Spanish language options for customers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Card and Consumer Internet Services have teamed up to launch Programa Latino de la Tarjeta de Crédito to provide an overview of bilingual credit card products and an opportunity to apply for them. Wells Fargo was the first major bank in the United States to promote the use of the Matricula Consular as a form of identification to help Mexican Nationals move from the risky cash economy to secure, reliable financial services. Since then — with the active support of the U.S. Treasury Department and hundreds of local police departments and municipalities — we’ve expanded the program to include immigrants from Argentina, Colombia, El Salvador, and Guatemala. Wells Fargo has one of the largest numbers of payout locations for a U.S. bank managed remittance service, creating an economical, convenient, and dependable way for customers to send money back home to their families and friends.
